HALFAXA
This is not intentionally Grimes week, but it is fast becoming just that. GEMS! I might put it out there and say could she be the next bjork?! Weregild and Favriel from Halfaxa by Grimes.
C O M I N G. T O. G E T. Y O U.
It's a flood of sorts, but I quite like this idea for painting up floorboards. Maybe I'll attack a section of my studio in a similar way. A neon area on the white boards could work quite nicely.
BOUCHER
Total girl crush. I can't wait to see her show all the way down the line in September. She's actual magic.
LIGHTSSS
What about this for a sectioning-off device? A room of sorts marked out only by low hanging lights and glowing arches. Imagine the dinner party you could have under there! 'Course to make it comfortable there'd have to be lots of cool air coming from somewhere. Eco this is not. Pretty this is.
THE SUN'S A SHININ'!
In no particular order: gap interior, prada face, maison mm, fujimoto home, vallery of the dolls still and a yucca crater (aka one hell of a pool party).
OH GO ON THEN
Seeing as it's a grey Tuesday morning, I'll spoil you and me with another Grimes track - Oblivion. HOORAY! X
GRIMES!
A bit of Battles, a definite dash of the much beloved Broadcast. I am really enjoying the sounds of Grimes. In particular this AMAZING piece Caladan from her 2010 release Geidi Primes. If only it lasted longer than two and a half minutes!
BUNNEY STUDS
Andrew Bunney of British Remains amongst other things, is a man of many talents. One of his side projects is his jewelery collection. Of which I like the pyramid studs the best. A sly nod to something more unconventional, they can be pinned to collars, cuffs, tees... pretty much anywhere in need of subtle adornment. His British Remains partner in crime Mr Saunders just sent me a glimpse of their shoe collection. So much good stuff for the boys.
POLKA
This is definitely a first - my work made edible! The Polka Theatre sent this for me to see. Someone had made a cake with my illustration at the first of their pop-up craft fairs!
SPITALFIELDSLIFE.COM
I adore reading Spitalfields Life... All the characters of this area, from the owners of my local hardware store to fella I buy my paper bags from, plus those I am yet to discover are virtually all interviewed and featured on this brilliant website (and book, published today!)
Above is a lovely page from artist Alfred Daniel's sketchbook also taken from the site. Together with examples of work, there are also some photographs of the man himself working away. There is something both interesting and satisfying seeing someone focused on their artwork.
SNEAK PEEKS

Teasers of recent work...Morsels of set build, painted lady of sorts and artwork for Fierce County's next EP. Proceeds of which will be going straight to Macmillan Nurses. Kisses x
